Card Making and Letter Writing
October 1, 2025
On October 1st, our team hosted a card-making and letter-writing event in support of youth at Covenant House in Montclair, NJ.
We raised $100 toward our upcoming care kits donation through our Bears, Bunnies, and Bracelet Fundraiser. We created 50+ heartfelt cards to include with the kits, and shared free candy and smiles with our community!
So grateful to everyone who stopped by and supported our mission.

Project Shelterway x TeenSpace Collaboration
October 10, 2025
Homelessness and mental health are deeply interconnected. Research from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) shows that around 30% of people experiencing chronic homelessness have a serious mental illness, and nearly 50% struggle with both mental health and substance use disorders.
Among youth, especially those who identify as LGBTQ+, rates of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and suicidal ideation are especially high. The Trevor Project found that LGBTQ youth who have experienced homelessness are two to four times more likely to attempt suicide compared to those with stable housing.
The TeenSpace collaborated with student-led organization Project Shelterway to create 50 cards for homeless youth, leaving motivating and positive messages behind. We also donated essential hygiene supplies through our care package donation drive to Covenant House (Nancy’s Place) in Montclair, NJ.
Nancy’s Place is an 18-month program for youth who have made mental health and wellness their priority. We donated 410+ items from this event in the form of 50 care kits, impacting several local teens.

Webinar with Yara Tohme
Webinar with Alia Abiad
November 13, 2025
December 16, 2025
As of now, The TeenSpace has hosted two webinars amassing 35+ attendees. Our webinars aim for attendees to consider potential careers in medicine, specifically in psychiatry, neuroscience, and psychology, as well as hear from passionate mental health advocates about their lived experiences.
Yara Tohme is a medical neuroscience graduate, who spoke about clear differences between psychology and neuroscience and ways high schoolers can get involved and pursue their passions.
Alia Abiad focuses on primary care and health equity and is a current medical student at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She discussed how teens can use their strengths to get involved in their communities in relation to bettering their mental health.

Hackensack Children’s Hospital Donations
December 23, 2025
In honor of the Christmas season, The TeenSpace donated a total of 78 items valued at $145. We received $115 in the form of in-kind donations from volunteers, and our founder donated the rest! Hackensack Children’s Hospital supports kids and teens navigating through mental health challenges with therapy, intensive programs, and crisis care. This kind of care is exactly what The TeenSpace aims to uplift.
Thank you to everyone who donated and celebrated the Christmas season with us. Some of the items we received included warm items like blankets and stuffed animals, therapeutic toys such as squishies, slime kits, and pop-its, and artistic outlets like coloring books and art supplies. A donation of 10 TeenSpace themed bears and 25x handmade cards were also created to uplift a child’s day.

Double Good Fundraiser
TCM Cookies Fundraiser
January 12-16, 2026
January 19-24, 2026
In efforts to make our fundraisers more accessible to everyone, The TeenSpace started a Double Good fundraiser. The TeenSpace was able to raise $251 and retain 50% of those profits for future hospital care package donation events to various behavioral units in Bergen County and beyond.
Along with our Double Good fundraiser, The TeenSpace initiated a small fundraiser in collaboration with TCM Cookies, with 40% of the proceeds going to future TeenSpace events. Overall, we raised $90 for our future events.

Saint Joseph's Health Donations
Creativity in adolescents, often measured through divergent thinking and artistic output, correlates statistically with improved mental health, higher academic achievement, and enhanced resilience.
Studies show that moderate to high levels of creativity are associated with lower risks of internalizing behaviors (depression, withdrawal) and externalizing behaviors (restlessness). It is also positively linked to better cognitive flexibility, increased self-esteem, and better management of stress.
The TeenSpace hosted a card making event in the month of January and created 70+ cards. Cards were created for youth in behavioral health units at Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. The event was created to further foster creativity in adolescents to promote mental health awareness and spread joy and kindness to youth in hospital settings.
Our Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center donation was a huge success delivering over 259+ creative supplies to youth in behavioral health units. The money spent on donations amassed to $211.47 from our DoubleGood fundraiser.

Appreciation Grams
TeenSpace x More Than Enough
The TeenSpace and BCA HOSA’s More Than Enough Initiative hosted an appreciation-grams event outside of Commons! The TeenSpace supported More Than Enough’s February Theme: Right Circle, Right Mind. This means supporting systems and uplifting one another. Through the creation of appreciation grams, participants were able to create personalized goody bags (free of charge!) with candy and customized cards. Many participants chose to write cards anonymously and/or give them out to other homerooms in efforts to spread joy and kindness during the Valentine’s Day appreciation season.
This event was created across a 3-day duration to ensure as many people got to have as many free Valentine’s Day gifts as possible, because kindness shouldn’t have a price tag. Across the three days participants made 150+ appreciation grams, 70+ on day 1, 50+ on day 2, and 30+ on day 3. Our ultimate goal was to promote positivity within our school community during this season. Surrounding ourselves with the right people strengthens our self-esteem and boosts our overall mental health.
